What an incredible experience we had dogsledding with Positive Energy Outdoors! Their Alaskan huskies are playful, fun-loving, and full of enthusiasm. These dogs are eager to work hard, and they certainly enjoy what they do.
We first visited the PEO kennel and learned all about the huskies, sleds and mushing equipment before heading out for our Bog Tour. Phil, Zac and Jake helped harness and hook the dogs up to to the towline. Experienced Mushers drove the sled dog teams while the guys assisted as Handlers. They stood on the back of the sled and peddled, using one leg to push off the ground or they would hop off and move the sled along when going uphill.
We headed down the trail and got to explore the beauty of Island Lake on the toboggan sleds. It was truly magical! Finding an outdoor activity that Phoebe can participate in with her special needs can be challenging, but this turned out to be fun for the whole family.
Huge shoutout to Blake, Katie and Carl from Positive Energy Outdoors for an unforgettable time. Click here for more info
