The best way we can describe dogsledding is this: magical. You may think that’s hyperbole, but if you could see these Alaskan huskies at work you would have to agree.
At first the dogs are hyper and energetic. They can’t wait to run. It’s loud and somewhat chaotic having two sled teams barking, pulling, and jumping up and down impatiently.
But when they get going, there’s a quietness and awe about them as they run together in unison. This is what they are born and bred to do: work hard and go long distances – not for show, nor for looks, but for performance.
By the end of their run, these huskies are the happiest and most satisfied having fulfilled their life’s purpose for the day. And for these fine creatures, it is a beautiful, magical thing!
